Product Bundle Field Overview

Posted by

Below you will find a complete list of the fields found when adding and editing bundles, along with an explanation of each field. If you still have any questions after reviewing the information below please contact Support for further information.

  • Name - Required Field
The value entered here will be displayed on the Cart page when the bundle has been applied, so ensure the name accurately describes the bundle to your customers.
  • Description
The description appears below the bundle name on the Cart page, and is used to add more information about the bundle should the Name field not be enough.
  • Image
This is the image that will be displayed next to the bundle when it is applied to the Cart, so it should have some relevance to the bundle, or perhaps be a generic bundle/discount image.
  • Schedule
Quite often bundles will only run for a certain period of time, and this is when you can use the Schedule fields. The From field is the first day the bundle is valid on, and the To field is the last day the bundle is valid on.
  • Active
Active is the main on/off switch for the Bundle. If this is off the bundle will never be applied to the cart, and if it is on it will be applied to the cart subject to the other bundle conditions.
  • Discount Qualifier
In some situations there are multiple products in the cart which a discount can apply to, some cheaper, some more expensive. Using the Discount Qualifier field, you can control if the smallest or largest discount is applied in such a situation. Typically, Lowest Value is used, but if the items are similarly priced and you wish to provide your customers with the best value, select Highest Value instead.
  • Product Bundle Selection
These fields control when the bundle is applicable, subject to the Schedule and Active fields.
    • Selection Operation
      There are three options:
      • Equal To
If this option is chosen, the bundle will only be applied if X of the applicable products are in the cart. For example, exactly 5 shirts must be in the cart for the bundle to apply.
      • Greater Than or Equal To
If this option is chosen, the bundle will only be applied if X or more of the applicable products are in the cart. For example, 5 or more shirts must be in the cart for the bundle to apply.
      • Multiples Of
If this option is chosen, the bundle will only be applied if X or more of the applicable products are in the cart, and for each set of X products, the bundle is applied. For example, with X being 5 in this case, if 5 shirts are in the cart the bundle will be applied once, if 8 shirts are in the cart the bundle will be applied once, and if 10 shirts are in the cart the bundle will be applied twice.
    • Selection Quantity
This field is where X in the above description is specified. Take the Equal To Selection Operation for example, if we enter 10 as the Selection Quantity, then exactly 10 of the applicable products must be in the cart for the bundle to apply.
    • Selection Quantifier
The applicable products, as mentioned above, can be a single product, multiple products, 1 or more categories, or a combination of products and categories. So as you can imagine, there can be a vast range of applicable products. Using this field, you can choose whether or not customers need to purchase X of the same product for the bundle to apply (Of the same items), or if they may purchase a mix of any X products for the bundle to apply (Of any items).
    • Selection Predicate
This is where you add the products or categories that contain the applicable products for this bundle.
    • Discount Amount
This is where you can setup a discount on the applicable products. For example, if your discount was add exactly 10 applicable products to receive 5% off, you would specify 5 in this field. Similarly, if the discount was to receive $5 off, you would specify 5 in this field.
    • Discount Operation
Select Percent or Dollars, depending on whether or not the discount is dollar or percentage based.
    • Discount Quantifier
Generally, the discount specified in the above 2 fields will be applied to each of the applicable products. However, this is not always the desired behaviour, instead you may wish for the discount to be applied to only 1 of the X applicable products. To acheive this, enter a 1 into the Discount Quantifier field.
  • Force to Cart
These fields allow you to automatically add products into the user's cart when the bundle is applied, and apply an optional discount to the products added. Since the product is being added to the cart automatically it is recommended to provide a 100% discount on those products, as the customer did not add it to the cart themselves and won't be expecting additional costs.
    • Add Product
Click this button to browse and select products to be automatically added to the user's cart on application of the bundle.
    • Base Price
The Base Price field will contain the Base Price of the product on that row, this information can be used to help you determine what discount to apply.
    • Discount Amount
This field is similar to the Discount Amount in the Product Bundle Selection area, except the discount specified here is applied to the product on this row after it is automatically addded into the cart.
    • Discount Operation
Select Percent or Dollars, depending on whether or not the discount is dollar or percentage based.
    • Item Quantity
Here you can specify how many of the product on this row should be automatically added to the user's cart.
